what is the difference between remote control and radio control?
I believe that: Radio Control involves transmitter and reciever that operate on a radio wave at certain frequency. Remote control is more of a general term, for example Infrared remote control of the TV, which does use line of sight infrared signal. Remote control doesn't have to be wireless either, as long as its "remote" from the device its controlling, like those old school TV remotes that were attached to TV set by wire. Hope this helps....

where is the swc wire on the 2007 chevy silverado?
Since the connector on the link you provided is for a radio, I assume that you are looking at the radio connector on this truck. You will not find it, it does not exist. The SWC wires on this vehicles go to the body control module, then the request gets sent to the appropriate module over the vehicle's data line. BCM connector 1 pins 6 and 17 are for the SWC....

the only difference the radio will make is if it has a slightly higher preout voltage. The difference in sound is probably due to the difference in the vehicles. All vehicles have what is called cabin gain, some enhance different frequencies than others. Other factors would be the difference between a car with a trunk, a hatchback, a single cab truck, SUVs.. and so on....
